The initiative must increase the flow of tourists into the country.
The government of Thailand will exempt tourists from several countries from paying visa fee from 1 December 2018 to 31 January 2019. Among them – citizens of Ukraine. This initiative should increase the flow of tourists into the country.
In particular, will be waiving and a 2000 baht ($ 60) for foreigners from 21 countries are arriving in Thailand for no more than 15 days. Now, passport holders of Andorra, Bhutan, Bulgaria, China, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Fiji, India, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Maldives, Malta, Mauritania, Papua New Guinea, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan can visit Thailand without paying the visa.
It is noted that thus the country trying to solve the problem with the fall in the number of tourists who get a visa on arrival. It is expected that the initiative will help to increase the flow of tourists by 30%.
The decision also aims at the return of Chinese tourists, whose number was reduced after a shipwreck on Phuket that killed 47 people.
According to the Ministry of tourism and sports of Thailand, in the first nine months of 2018 visited Thailand 28.5 million foreign tourists (8.7% more than in the same period last year).
